Why Tithe?
Tithing is mentioned over 800 times throughout scripture like in Leviticus 27: 30 “ ‘A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD.” That passage goes on to talk more about tithing, but essentially each passage you read about giving or tithing, God wants your heart. Matthew 6: 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. That is why its mentioned so many times throughout the Bible, God wants You to rely on Him totally and purely. Not money, finances, or things of this world to be your security, but to have God to be your provider and that security.
Tithing is one part of that reliance on God, obeying His word, and trusting that He will take care of you.
Why give to Oak Chapel?
At Oak Chapel you can chose to give to 3 areas. Our General Fund, Missions, our Youth Ministry. If you select our General Fund, that will go towards helping towards salaries, building repairs, projects, and other use from the board. Which you are more than welcome to join in on!
The second is Missions. We are very passionate about giving to support local missions that help either support men and women who are trying to spread God’s word, impacting those around them with the love of Christ, or have an amazing Kingdom Cause. Below are the following Missions we support this year:
The third is Youth Ministry- This will purely go into our budget to purchase materials, food, and outreach events for children.
